Meet Chai for Charity

Chai's mission is to inspire people to give in creative ways. Our belief is that everyone has something to give, regardless of where they are in life (20yo-me had no money, but lots of time; 40yo-me has no time, but some money). We work with hosts (like Google, below) to gather their community to learn about, and invest in, local causes that matter to them. - Natasha, Founder of Chai for Charity

women@Google is an employee resource group intended to help women thrive through development opportunities, investment in our communities and by working together to create a culture of inclusion.

What is International Women’s Day?

International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.

IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organization specific.

#IWD2022’s theme is Break the Bias.

Why these non-profits?

In honor of International Women’s Day, we were eager to support two extraordinary local non-profits that are women-led and serve women in our community. Love for Lily gives families the support they need to ease their journey through the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and thrive in unit and at home. Undestructable works with survivors of intimate partner violence on their journey to economic independence from their harm-doers. They do this through an employment program that not only provides survivors with an income and the life & job skills they need, but also promotes healing and the rediscovery of their innate self-worth creating sustainable products made from post consumer waste.

Why Chai for Charity?

women@Google is thrilled to partner with Chai for Charity due to their passion for small, local non-profits and the way they have approached giving in a way that honors donors where they are in life. Providing the flexibility of giving via goods, time, talent, or money widens the opportunities for anyone to contribute to the causes they care about, and women@ is excited to work with Chai’s infrastructure to support our two selected non-profits in this way.
