Meet Chai for Charity

Chai's mission is to inspire people to give in creative ways. Our belief is that everyone has something to give, regardless of where they are in life (20yo-me had no money, but lots of time; 40yo-me has no time, but some money; and my young children also have things to give: goods & time!). We work with hosts (like Sage, below) to gather their community to learn about, and invest in, local causes that matter to them. This April event aims to model giving to our kids by helping them invest goods and time into our community. - Natasha, Founder of Chai for Charity

Meet your host: Sage B. Hobbs

Sage is a working mom, proud teacher’s wife, “retired” school counselor, and has spent most of her life investing in efforts that make the world better. She and her husband model civic service, generosity and a hunger to do good for their young children, and one of her passion areas is equity in education. Sage and her family invite you to partner with them to assemble creative learning kits for young children who don’t have access to the sensory tools that help kids develop early in life (play doh, pipe cleaners, pony beads, etc.). Join us by RSVPing below!

Meet our nonprofits

Join us to assemble 2,000 creative learning kits to donate to these 2 local nonprofits who can get them to students across Boulder County & Longmont: Engaged Latino Parents Advancing Student Outcomes (ELPASO) and Boulder Housing Partners’ Bringing School Home Program.

Your task

1) ASSEMBLY starts Apr 18th: After you register (below) and provide your address, we bulk-purchase supplies for the learning kits and deliver a portion of supplies (~20 kits’ worth) to your doorstep (CO-based families only). You assemble kits with your family.

2) Google Hangout on Apr 24th: Join us on Apr 24th @ 9:30am by Google Hangout to hear from each of the nonprofits (above) and learn about how you you can invest your money, goods, time and talent virtually (via an electronic wishlist).

3) DROP-OFF by Apr 26th: After you’ve assembled the kits, drop them off at Chai locations in Boulder or Lafayette by Apr 26th.
