Meet Chai for Charity

Chai's mission is to inspire people to give in creative ways. Our belief is that everyone has something to give, regardless of where they are in life (20yo-me had no money, but lots of time; 40yo-me has no time, but some money; and my young children also have things to give: goods & time!). We work with hosts (like Illy, below) to gather their community to learn about, and invest in, local causes that matter to them. This Feb event aims to model giving to our kids by helping them invest goods and time. - Natasha, Founder of Chai for Charity

Meet your host: Illy Sanders

The mother of two college-aged daughters, Illy (and her family) have always modeled generosity, service and community investment for her family. She attended a Chai event in 2020, and was inspired to host an event that engages children in the act of giving. Illy is passionate about serving the homeless in our community and is eager to mobilize our collective resources to provide support to our neighbors. She chose the below 3 nonprofits to highlight because she is in awe of their commitment to provide shelter, support and housing to those experiencing homelessness near us. Join us by RSVPing below!
